Suitable for most tile types

LIMITATIONS

· All workmanship (including movement joints) must be carried out in accordance with AS3958.1-2007

· Always refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before using

· Only tile surfaces that are suitable. If in doubt check with substrate manufacturer

· When tiling directly onto waterproofing membranes check to ensure compatibility

· Not suitable for use with moisture sensitive stone or tiles

· Use only at ambient conditions between 5 and 35°C. Do not use in windy or very low humidity conditions

· Some surfaces such as plastic and metal may require special preparation and may not be suitable

· When tiling walls do not exceed 2.7m and always check that it will support the intended weight

· If tiling directly onto solvent based polyurethane waterproofing membranes extra precautions must be taken and special surface preparation must be carried out. Suitability is not assured so contact Heritage Tiles for further information

· Not suitable for total immersion

· Do not use to tile directly onto timber, plywood, particleboard, MDF or Masonite or fibre cement sheet

· Suspended concrete slabs must conform to AS3958.1-2007 for maximum deflection. Any post tensioned concrete slabs must be treated as a flexible substrate.

SURFACE PREPARATION

1. Make sure the wall has been correctly installed according to relevant standards and manufacturers recommendations

2. Allow for minimum curing time for render and screeds (1 day) and concrete (7 days)

3. Remove all material that will interfere with bond. These include oils, grease, wax, release agents, curing compounds dust or any loose material

4. Ensure surface is sound. All weak or friable material must be removed

5. Check the cleaned surface by applying a small amount of water. It will be easily absorbed if porous and bead on the surface if not

6. Treat porous surfaces with ASA Multiprime

7. Most non-porous surfaces may be primed with Bostik NP Primer

8. If in doubt about most suitable preparation, contact Heritage Tiles

MOVEMENT JOINTS

Movement joints must be incorporated at the design stage and in accordance with AS3958.1-2007.

MIXING

20kg powder mixes into 5L water

1. Add water to bucket

2. Mix powder into water with mechanical stirring

3. mix until smooth

4. Allow to stand for 2 minutes.

5. Remix before using

Note: Always add the powder to the water. Use a drill with suitable mixing paddle designed for the task. Do not mix by hand. Use a low speed mixer (300rpm).

ASA Megalastic must be used as a total water replacement, in areas subject to vibration, thermal fluctuation, expansion or contraction, immersed applications and when adhering to impervious substrates, tiles and ASA waterproofing membranes. When laying tiles/mosaics in continuous immersion applications ensure that a minimum contact of 90% of adhesive to the back of the tile/mosaic cube, not mesh/matting, (paper or other) or the mesh matting glue. Recommended for tiling over ASA waterproofing membranes only when mixed with undiluted ASA Megalastic.

APPLICATION

1. Apply the mixed adhesive to the prepared substrate using the appropriate notched trowel for the size of the tile being laid. A minimum of 1mm bed thickness for walls and a minimum of 3mm and a maximum of 12mm for floors must be achieved.

2. Ensure that the tiles are fully supported by the adhesive with no voids.

3. Do not spread more than 1m2 of Super Tile Fix at a time.

4. Lay tiles into the adhesive before it skins. If the adhesive skins, re-spread the adhesive.

5. Do not disturb tiles until the adhesive has cured.

6. Discard any unused product that has hardened or stiffened in the mixing bucket.

All workmanship must be carried out in accordance with AS3958.1- 2007 and good workmanship practices

POT LIFE

2.5 hours at 22°C and 50% RH.

Pot life will be influenced by ambient conditions. Shorter pot life in warm conditions and longer pot life in cool conditions should be expected.

Extra care should be taken in warm conditions to ensure the adhesive has not stiffened significantly before use and that the open time has not been exceeded. If in doubt discard and prepare a new batch.

SETTING TIME

6 hours at 22°C and 50% RH.

Setting times will be influenced by ambient conditions. Faster setting in warm conditions and slower setting in cool conditions should be expected

Allow a minimum of 24 hours for the adhesive to set (or when tile work is firm) and between 24 - 48 hours when tiling over ASA waterproofing membranes and non-porous substrates prior to allowing foot traffic or grouting. Super Tile Fix must not come into contact with water at any stage during cure. Do not tile if temperatures are likely to drop to below 5°C or exceed 35°C.

COVERAGE (20kg Bag)
