How To Clean Tiles

How do you keep your tiles and grout looking as fantastic as the day they were installed?

Tiles are stain-resistant, tough and easy to clean. Warm soapy water works for most jobs, but they can handle harsh cleaners when required. It is often old grout that can be more challenging and takes a bit of elbow grease to get it looking shiny and new again. Recently we came across Bar Keepers friend, a non-bleach, plant-based cleaner that has knocked our socks off with its effectiveness; we love it so much we're stocking it in our stores. The solution aims to tackle mould and mildew and will completely remove dark filth from around the tile and grout - it's also amazing on watermarked showers!

What is Bar Keepers Friend?

In 1882, an Indianapolis chemist noticed how clean and shiny his tarnished pot was after cooking rhubarb. Using an active ingredient that's found in the plant he formulated a talcum-smooth cleanser and sold it to the city's taverns. His customers were pleased with how well it worked on bar fixtures, the product was dubbed the "Bar Keepers Friend"

Bar Keepers Friend has been the “Can Do Cleanser” ever since!  Available in powder, cream and liquid, Bar Keepers Friend has millions of loyal users who give credence to the motto, “Once Tried, Always Used”. Best yet, Bar Keepers Friend is a premium all-purpose cleanser that works without chlorine bleach for everyday cleaning and tough stains including lime and rust.

How does it work?

The solution can be sprinkled, poured or sprayed to the surface (dependant on which product you choose) and with a gentle rub and rinse the results happen right in front of your eyes.

Products available at Tile Space:

Granulated form - Classic formula the most flexible.
Cream cleanser - Liquid version, best for spot removal.
Spray cleaner - Best for shower doors & anywhere you need to apply vertically.
